Learn to Say No

Good morning friends! I hope your week is going well! Most of you probably have a to-do list a mile long that just keeps growing, and can’t wait for the weekend to get here!  I’m constantly struggling to  figure out ways to decrease the stress associated with my to-do list and  commitments and am guilty of not knowing how to say “no”,  even at the expense of the well-being of my family and myself. Over the last year I have been actively working on being able to do this and it isn’t always easy. I can confidently say that I’m better at saying no but not without explaining myself. Why do I (and many others) feel the need to explain why I’m not  able to do something?

Take a minute today to evaluate your to-do list and commitments. Are you feeling overwhelmed and stressed by it? I challenge you to say “NO” to one item.  Do you really need to go to the post office today, or can it wait until you are in that part of town tomorrow? Is your floor really that bad that you need to vacuum it today or can it actually wait until the weekend? Sometimes just saying no to the little things can make a BIG difference on your well-being.
